The Avila Beach Hotel became a member of Pack for a Purpose in 2016, encouraging tourists to bring supplies useful for local schools. Initially, this initiative supported the nearby Oranje School. However, following its closure, the project expanded to include other schools. In 2018, the Schotborgh School was added, followed by Kolegio Don Sarto in Soto in 2019, and Pedro Luis Brion School in 2022.
With initiatives such as Pack for a Purpose, the Avila Beach Hotel aims to contribute to the local community. Sustainability is an increasingly important focus in the travel industry, and hotels and travel agencies in Curaçao are embracing this trend. Without the support and love of the local community, Avila would have been a different Avila. The hotel gladly reciprocates by taking initiatives like this.
