In December 2023, Avila Beach Hotel completed a significant renovation of its lobby, which has been a central part of the hotel since its inception. The main entrance and lobby of the hotel, once known as the "Belle Alliance," hold a unique place in Curaçao’s history. The building’s heritage dates back to 1780 and reflects the island's colonial past, while the recent renovation preserves its historic charm while updating it for modern use. The Gold Winner recognition acknowledges the seamless blend of the hotel’s past and present.

“Stepping into the lobby is like walking through time,” says Robbin Vogels, General Manager. “We’ve worked hard to maintain its historic feel while also making it a welcoming space for today’s guests and a unique spot for new memories to be made.”

Silver Winner – Interior Design: Sports Hotel Gym & Recreational Areas

The Silver Winner award for the gym and recreational areas reflects the hotel’s dedication to offering spaces where guests can maintain an active lifestyle. The fitness facilities at Avila Fitness Center are designed to create an inviting and motivating environment, enhancing the overall guest experience. The hotel is not only dedicated to design but also to guest wellness. Guests can participate in a variety of group classes that combine fitness with the beauty of the surrounding environment. Spinning – Cycling in the historic governor's mansion
