WILLEMSTAD - Coral Restoration Foundation Curaçao (CRFC) signed a partnership agreement with the Avila Beach Hotel to repopulate the house reef in front of the hotel. The project will last a period of 3 years and include a 6 tree “pop up” nursery to grow the corals to later out plant them on the reef. Coral Restoration Foundation Curacao has been restoring Curacao reefs for the last 3 years and we have successfully out planted over 5000 Staghorn and Elkhorn corals in the house reef at LionsDive, Sunscape, Sweet Bottom and Directors Bay.
“We will be celebrating our 4th anniversary this coming May and this partnership with the Avila Beach Hotel is the perfect way to celebrate another anniversary” as quoted by Pol Bosch, CRFC Project Manager. “We are very happy to partner with CRFC for this initiative to improve the quality of our reefs” said Mr. Robbin Vogels, General Manager of the Avila Beach Hotel.
