A stay that gives back
At the Avila Beach Hotel, a stay is designed to be more than a getaway. Through a new partnership as of May 2026 with
the Tur Mucha Mester Kome Foundation (TMMK), meaning “Every Child Should Eat,” guests automatically take part of a meaningful local initiative that supports children in Curaçao.
For every three nights booked directly via their website at Curaçao’s oldest operational hotel, a contribution is made that helps provide a full day of meals for a local child. In this way, each stay naturally contributes to something larger, without changing the travel experience itself.

Avila’s Direct Booking Benefits
From local reality to island-wide impact
This TMMK initiative traces back to 2017, when a confronting reality came to light: many children on the island were arriving at school on an empty stomach. What began as an urgent response has since grown into a structured, island-wide program with lasting impact.
Nourishing the next generation
Today, TMMK supports hundreds of schoolchildren by providing fresh, nutritious meals every school day. Each child receives a freshly prepared warm meal, whole wheat sandwiches, and fruit, ensuring they are nourished throughout the day, carefully prepared to support their health,
concentration, and overall development.
Behind the scenes, a dedicated voluntary team works closely with schools, nutritionists ensuring a balanced diet of carbohydrates, protein and vegetables, and local partners to ensure consistent quality, efficient distribution, and long-term sustainability.
Travel that makes a difference
By integrating this initiative into the guest experience, the Avila Beach Hotel offers travelers the opportunity to contribute in a natural and meaningful way. Without changing their plans, guests become part of a larger story, one where their stay helps create a positive impact within the local community.
The longer guests stay when booking directly through the hotel’s website, the more meals they help provide, turning their time in Curaçao into something that reaches far beyond the vacation itself.
A Shared Responsibility
“Travel has the power to connect and to give back,” says Robbin Vogels, General Manager of the Avila Beach Hotel. “Through this partnership, we hope to create stays that not only feel memorable for our guests, but also positively contribute to the local community and a more sustainable future for Curaçao.” As Curaçao continues to welcome visitors from around the world, initiatives like these reflect a growing awareness that tourism, sustainability and community can go hand in hand. At the Avila Beach Hotel, every stay booked directly through the hotel becomes an opportunity to support a brighter future for local children.
