Maybe you have tried Blue Curacao before, without even knowing anything about the home of this tasty liquor, the island of Curacao. It is where to sea is as bright blue as the delicious drink. The laraha-based liquor, similar to triple sec and other citrus-based liquors, has a sweet and orange-ish flavor.
If you have ever visited Curacao and stayed at the Avila Beach Hotel you have probably had the pleasure to enjoy Avila’s signature cocktail (multiple times, we bet): the Bon Bini Cocktail.
Bon Bini means Welcome in Papiamentu; the local language of Curacao. When you wish to taste the best of Curacao at home, here is the recipe of Avila’s most ordered cocktail.
The recipe:
1. 1 shot (1.5 ounces or 44 ml) of Blue Curacao
2. A few ice cubs
3. Pineapple juice
4. 1 shot of Myer’s Rum (1.5 ounces or 44 ml)
5. Slice of pineapple and a Cherry on top
We look forward to welcoming you to the Avila Beach Hotel soon, so we can serve you a Bon Bini cocktail on our white sandy beach and the beautiful backdrop of a turquoise blue sea, with a warm a smile of one of our mixologists.
