  • Octagon Museum

    Octagon Museum

The Octagon Museum was where the Venezuelan "Libertador" Simon Bolívar, spent some time before ending Spanish colonial rule in South America. The Octagon has stood the test of time well. Meanwhile, the Octagon has been lovingly restored by the Curaçao Monuments and the Avila Beach Hotel, on whose site the building is located. Today the Octagon is a small museum that keeps the memory of the bond between Curacao and Simon Bolívar alive. There is also a temporary exhibition on the history of the Avila Beach Hotel for Avila's 70th anniversary. The Octagon Museum is the starting point of a Walking Tour to Punda and Otrobanda given by Corine Seket.
